Privacy Policy
Psalmlock · Effective October 8, 2026
Psalmlock ("the app") is made by Eddy Studio (에디스튜디오), a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: we do not collect it.
What we do not collect
- We do not ask you to create an account.
- We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, or device identifiers.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools, and we do not sell or share any data.
Screen Time data
Psalmlock uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity) to lock the apps you choose and to show your weekly usage converted into reading time. Apple provides this data only inside the app's extensions on your device. It never leaves your device, and we cannot see which apps you use or for how long. The apps you select are stored as Apple-provided tokens that do not reveal app names to us.
Data stored on your device
Your settings (faith tradition, reading plan, translation, lock hours, relock time, reminders), reading progress, streak, and daily reading time are stored only on your device, in storage shared between the app, its extensions, and its widget. Your device's own backups may include this data. Deleting the app deletes it from your device.
Purchases
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment information. The app checks your purchase status with Apple on your device.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules local notifications on your device. None are sent from a server. They are:
- a reminder before your free trial ends;
- an evening reminder if you haven't read yet that day (you can turn it off in the app's Settings tab);
- a notice when a seasonal reading plan, such as Advent or Lent, begins;
- a reminder you ask for from the screen that covers a locked app ("Remind me in 10 minutes");
- on some iOS versions, a notification that opens today's reading when you tap the button on that screen.
Photos
If you save a share card to Photos, the app asks for permission to add the image. It cannot read your photo library.
Links to other services
If you tap "Read in another translation", the app opens the bible.com website in an in-app browser. We do not send any data to it; bible.com's own privacy policy applies to that website.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date.
